The German registered association “Addis-Hiwot Kinderhilfe e.V.” (Addis-Hiwot Children’s Aid) was founded on the 9th of April 2005 through the initiative of 7 members of the Ethiopian Evangelical Free Church Congregation in Berlin.

This association is recognized by the Berlin tax authorities under the number 27/659/52361 as a non-profit, charitable organization and is entered in the register of associations kept by the district court of Berlin Charlottenburg. This implies that donations are deductible under German income tax law.

The activities in Ethiopia are managed through a partner association in Addis Ababa. You will find details about our partner NGO under the menu “Partner Association” .

The founding members of Addis-Hiwot Kinderhilfe e.V. are all unsalaried and are active on an honorary and voluntary basis and are convinced that it is possible to help people without asking about their political views, their ethnical backgrounds or religious beliefs or affiliation. The only criterion which a child or family must fulfil to be supported by us is that they just be poor and needy.

While we are sure we are promoting a good cause, we can not solve the problems of the children and their families in Ethiopia by ourselves. A well known person once said, “a drop of help is better than an ocean of sympathy”. This is the spirit in which we are able to make a small contribution with your help.

As you see, our web site is under construction. Bit by bit we will fill the site with life. General information about the land and people of Ethiopia will be added. Of course, we will also introduce our projects in detail.
